Obituary Notice
Mt. Zion-Gladys E. Hector, 95, of Mt. Zion passed on to be with the Lord Tuesday August 9, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital with her family by her side.
A service to celebrate Gladys’ life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday August 15, 2011 at Dawson & Wikoff Mt. Zion Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday August 14, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery.
Family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Zion.
Gladys was born on November 7, 1915 in Missouri the daughter of James H. and Lena Farris McCan. She married Leo Raymond Hector on March 12, 1931 and he preceded her in death on December 4, 1983. Gladys was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Zion. She was a volunteer in the church, around the city and she volunteered for” Meals on Wheels”. Her favorite hobby was taking pictures.
Gladys is survived by her daughter Aline Hilton of Mt. Zion; grandchildren: Don (Carolyn) Hilton of Lovington, Dave (Lisa) Hilton of Gilbert, AZ, Jeff (Therese) Hilton of Moweaqua, Janice (Rick) Farrar of Decatur, Desiree Hector of AZ, Vicki McCraken of CA, Gary (Joann) McCraken of TX and Debbie Knight of AZ; twenty-three great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren; niece Kathryn Kalaher and dear friend Shirley Hughes and Miller girls also survive.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, stepmother Laura McCan, one sister and one brother, son Jack, son-in-law Jimmie “J.D.” Hilton, grandson Scott and great great granddaughter Emma.

We are so sorry to hear the news. It's been many years since we've seen Grandma, but we will always cherish the memories, and the summers she spent with us (especially her passion for swimming). You are all in our prayers!
